The approval results for Nankai University’s 2026 Philosophy and Social Science Original Textbook Development and Cultivation Program were announced. The School of Foreign Studies achieved outstanding results in this review, with both of its two graduate-level original textbook development projects successfully approved, demonstrating the school’s comprehensive strength in graduate curriculum development, talent cultivation, and research innovation. The Nankai University 2026 Philosophy and Social Science Original Textbook Development Initiative is a cultivation program launched by the university in line with the directives of the National Textbook Commission. It aims to advance the integration of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into textbooks, classrooms and minds, and implement key tasks set out in the Master Plan for Building China into a Leading Country in Education (2024–2035). The successful approval of these projects fully reflects the profound foundation and distinctive strengths of the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) in textbook compilation, teaching reform and curriculum innovation. Moving forward, SFS will seize this opportunity to focus on the core demands of talent cultivation, deepen educational and teaching reforms, strive to develop high-quality, distinctive and original exemplary textbooks, steadily enrich teaching content and improve educational outcomes, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the university’s education undertakings.
