On January 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the Consultation and Review Session on NSSFC and Ministry of Education Project Applications jointly held by the Center for Area Studies and the Center for Globalization of Chinese Poetry at the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) at Nankai University was successfully held in Room 139 (Liangzheng Hall) of the SFS. Prof. Yan Guodong, Dean of the SFS and Director of the Center for Area Studies, and Prof. Zhang Zhizhong, Director of the Center for Globalization of Chinese Poetry, were invited as expert advisors. Nearly 40 faculty members from various departments of the SFS attended the session for discussion and exchange.Drawing on their extensive experience in project application and evaluation, the two experts delivered systematic guidance focusing on key aspects such as application procedures, topic selection, and patterns observed in previously funded projects. During the meeting, the expert team conducted detailed, one-on-one reviews of the participants’ proposals, offering targeted suggestions for improvement, particularly in areas such as topic design and writing standards. They also identified common pitfalls in project applications and provided practical strategies for avoiding them. In the interactive Q&A session, the experts responded to individual questions raised by faculty members with precise and in-depth guidance. The discussion was lively, practical, and highly productive.
The consultation meeting, characterized by its substantive content and clear focus, not only deepened young faculty members’ understanding of the key requirements for applying to NSSFC and Ministry of Education projects, but also helped them accumulate practical experience and clarify research directions. The event further fostered a strong academic exchange atmosphere within the School and laid a solid foundation for promoting high-level research outputs and enhancing research innovation capacity at the SFS.
