Professor Chiara Romagnoli and Dr. Sergio Conti from Roma Tre University Visit SFS

On December 4th, 2025, Professor Chiara Romagnoli, Associate Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures and Director of the Center for Chinese and East Asian Studies at Roma Tre University Italy (Terza Università degli Studi di Roma), and Dr. Sergio Conti, a researcher in the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the same university, visited the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) at Nankai University. Professor Yan Guodong, Dean of SFS, Professor Yang Lin, Head of the Department of Italian, and Dr. Ni Yang, a faculty member, jointly hosted the meeting.

Prof. Yan Guodong reviewed the history of cooperation between Nankai University and Roma Tre University Italy. He highlighted key milestones such as the signing of the institutional cooperation agreement between the two universities and the recruitment fair held in Rome, Italy, in 2019. He also expressed gratitude for the Roma Tre University Italy’s long-standing support and assistance for the Italian Department of SFS and looked forward to further expanding the scope of cooperation in the future.

Professor Chiara Romagnoli noted that students at Roma Tre University have a strong interest in the Chinese language and culture and are eager to participate in exchange programs in China. Professor Chiara Romagnoli hopes to deepen cooperation with Nankai University further, using language education as a bridge to strengthen Chinese language instruction and academic exchange, support student development, and promote the continued growth of cultural relations between Italy and China.

During the meeting, both sides reached a consensus on deepening cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, translation projects, and academic research, thereby laying the groundwork for future collaboration and elevating Sino-Italian cultural and linguistic exchanges and educational cooperation between the two universities to a higher level.
