On May 16, Mr. Manabu Nago, Counselor of the Information and Culture Center of the Embassy of Japan in the People’s Republic of China, delivered a lecture at the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) at Nankai University. The event was chaired by Prof. Wang Kai, Vice Dean of the SFS.
Centering on the theme “Characteristics of Education and Research at Japanese Universities,” Mr. Nago provided an in-depth overview of the distinctive features, organizational structures, data collection practices, and emerging research trends in the humanities and social sciences at Japanese universities. He also offered comprehensive responses to students’ questions regarding research methodologies, postgraduate study opportunities and career development in Japan.

Mr. Yuya Matsuoka, a Japanese faculty member from the Department of Japanese Language, along with more than forty undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, attended the lecture.
