On the afternoon of September 26, 2024, a delegation led by the Vice President of Universitat de Lleida (UdL, Spain) visited the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) and held a signing ceremony for an exchange and cooperation agreement. The Dean Professor Yan Guodong attended the meeting and ceremony.
The Dean Professor Yan Guodong first extended a warm welcome to the delegation from UdL. He reviewed the in-depth interaction between the two universities throughout the years. Since 2014, SFS has sent nine students to study at UdL, which has raised the professional standard and broadened the international vision. SFS anticipates the continued in-depth cooperation between the two universities in the fields of teaching and research, as well as the joint cultivation of students.
Professor Antoni Granollers, Vice President of UdL, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of SFS. He introduced the distribution and construction progress of disciplines at UdL, emphasized the significance of continuing and expanding the partnership with SFS of Nankai University, and welcomed more students from SFS.
Subsequently, the two sides held a signing ceremony and reached an in-depth cooperation intention. The Director of the Spanish Department of UdL gave an academic lecture on “Spanish in Latin America” to the students.
Conxita Villar, Deputy Director of the Social Council of UdL, María Ángeles Calero and Javier Terrado, professors of the Spanish Department, Secretary Olga Francisco, An Lu, the project specialist of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Prof. Wang Kai, Deputy Dean of SFS, and Associate Professor Gu Jiawei, Director of the Spanish Department, attended the event.
Universitat de Lleida was founded in 1300, formerly known as the Lleida Comprehensive College, which was authorized by the King of Aragón. In 1991, it was officially renamed Universitat de Lleida and now is a comprehensive public university. In December 2014, Nankai University and the UdL formally established an inter-university cooperative relationship.
