On 20 March, the “Nankai University Teaching Excellence Award,” established by Nankai University's outstanding alumni with a donation of RMB 11 million, was awarded for the first time. Ten exceptional teachers who have made significant contributions to the field of education and demonstrated outstanding achievements were honored with this award.
On the same day, the award ceremony was held at the Xingshen Building at the Balitai Campus. Yang Qingshan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University, and Chen Yulu, President of Nankai University, presented the awards to the winning teachers.
At the end of 2023, the university officially launched the selection process for the “Nankai University Teaching Excellence Award”. After individual nominations, recommendations from each teaching unit, formal reviews, committee evaluations, and university-wide publicity, 10 outstanding teachers who have made significant contributions to teaching and demonstrated excellent achievements were honored with the “Nankai University Teaching Excellence Award” in 2023. Professor Li Xia from the Department of Foreign Languages for Non-Majors was awarded this honor.
It is reported that the establishment of the “Nankai University Teaching Excellence Award” is one of the important initiatives of the university to explore the law of talent cultivation in the new era, continue to deepen the reform of education and teaching, and reward the outstanding teachers who are dedicated to the frontline of teaching and have remarkable teaching achievements.
