A delegation from the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil, visits the College of Foreign Languages at Nankai University.
On the afternoon of 12 December, Rodrigo Rego, Director of the International Affairs Division of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Brazil, Nonato Furtado, International Director of the Confucius Institute at UFC, and Prof. Su Jianhua, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, along with their entourage, visited the College of Foreign Languages at Nankai University. Prof. Yan Guodong, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, and Prof. Li Min, Vice Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, warmly welcomed the delegation from the Federal University of Ceará.
Prof. Yan reviewed the current collaboration between Nankai University and the Federal University of Ceará, exchanged perspectives with the Director on mutual concerns, and emphasized that Brazil is the primary focus for Nankai's Portuguese students in the future. He also highlighted the need to reclaim the lost time resulted from the epidemic for several years, and expressed an intention to collaborate with the Federal University of Ceará to enhance the diverse development of students. Director Rego stated that he had gained a deeper understanding of the College of Foreign Languages and that the cooperation between the two institutions was conducted within the framework of the growing partnership between China and Brazil. He also mentioned that the Federal University of Ceará prioritized the matters concerning Nankai University and pledged full support for the cooperation between the two entities.
Both sides unanimously agreed to continue expanding their cooperation in various areas, including personnel exchange and academic collaboration.
