From Oct. 27 to 29, 2023, the 2023 annual meeting of the Sub-Committee of Teaching Guidance Committee of German Language and Literature in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education was held at the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures of Xiamen University with the theme of “German Teaching and Research: New Mission, New Technology, New Strategy”. The meeting was hosted by the German Sub-Committee and undertaken by the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures at Xiamen University.
Nearly a hundred experts and scholars from the Guidance Committee, the German Language Departments from over 80 universities nationwide, the Goethe Institute in Beijing, the German Academic Communication Center, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, gathered to discuss the development of research on German language teaching.
Liu Guanlong, head of German Department of Nankai University, attended the meeting and conducted wide and in-depth discussion and communication with other colleagues based on the conference’s theme to deepen mutual understanding. The annual meeting successfully showed and discussed the frontier research in German language teaching, which will undoubtedly effectively promote the innovation and further development of the German language discipline in Chinese universities.
