This experience increases her personal horizons and has a key impact on her professional depth and breadth as a jewelry designer.
Yan Guodong, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, awarded the Honorary Certificate to Alumni He Jing. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to He Jing and Jiahu Foundation. Deputy Director Yu Yang delivered a warm speech, thanking He Jing for returning to Nankai University and donating money to set up a fund to help students study abroad. Yu also encouraged the funded students to inherit the Nankai spirit and make contributions to the country.
The "Overseas Study Fund of the College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University" was jointly established by He Jing, an alumnus of the Russian Department of the College of Foreign Languages in 2006, founder of Yuzhong Jewelry (Shanghai) Co., LTD., and Deputy Secretary General of the Process Committee of Shanghai Jewelry Design Association, and Chen Jiayi, the Executive Director of Hangzhou Jia Hu Foundation. This Fund was launched on April 28 this year and is mainly used to support full-time students of the College who participate in international exchange sessions. Students from financially disadvantaged families with a strong willingness to learn, innovative spirit, global perspective, and cooperative spirit are eligible to apply.
He Jing (Jeanne HO) is a renowned independent jewelry designer, Deputy Secretary General of the Process Committee of Shanghai Jewelry Design Association, gemologist and designer of the International Gemological Institute (IGI), IGI Art Star, and "Young Creative Design Talent" of the Ministry of Culture. Her design works integrate her understanding of Chinese and Western culture and art over many years, combining classicism and modern spirit as well as Eastern tradition and Western culture. She integrates traditional Chinese elements into Western techniques and perspectives. She is good at integrating bright-colored gems into jewelry design, and her works are filled with unique and magical fairy tale colors. Most of her inspirations come from Chinese and Western literature, painting and architectural art, children's world, musical dramas, movies, and philosophy.
