The aim of the lecture is to further expand the international academic perspective of the faculty and students, broaden the channels for utilizing academic resources, and support the innovative development of foreign language disciplines. The lecture was hosted by Professor Li Min, the Deputy Dean, and was attended by over 40 faculty members, doctoral and master's students from the English Department, Japanese Department, French Department, German Department, Italian Department, and Translation Department.

Ms. Guo Yang started the lecture by providing a brief introduction to the publication of Chinese scholars in the field of linguistics from a global perspective and the coverage of Web of Science (SSCI & A&HCI). Using vivid examples and the latest data, she then proceeded to explain to the audience how to conduct research projects based on Web of Science. Ms. Xiang Nuo mainly focused on introducing ProQuest One Literature, a multi-language literature database, and ProQuest E-book Central, an original foreign language e-book platform. She provided an overview of the functionalities offered by these platforms and explained how users can access the resources available through them.

At the following Q&A session, the attending faculty and students enthusiastically responded to the key points raised by the lecturers regarding literature inclusion and literature retrieval. They also engaged in discussions with the speakers on topics such as the new features of paper retrieval in Web of Science, retrieval of papers in non-English languages, locating ESCI literature, and using ProQuest.
