On the afternoon of September 28th, a group of five people, including Mr. Wen Yi, Vice President and Party Branch Secretary of Grouphorse Group, Mr. Gongming, Assistant to President, Ms. Guo Yanqing, Assistant to Vice President, Ms. Li Jinglin, Translation Trainer, and Ms. Ma Xiaoya, Teaching Secretary, visited College of Foreign Languages. They had in-depth discussions on issues related to school-enterprise cooperation and joint construction and held a series of lectures on school-enterprise cooperation. Party Secretary Mu Xiangwang, Deputy Secretary Xiang Yu, Deputy Dean Hu Jun, Deputy Dean Ma Hongqi, and Deputy Dean Wang Kai attended the symposium. After listening to Mr. Wen Yi’s brief introduction of “Grouphorse Group and “Grouphorse Translation”, the two deputy deans Ma Hongqi and Wang Kai also introduced the development of the college’s undergraduate training and postgraduate education. Afterward, the two parties conducted in-depth discussions and consultations on the details of some school-enterprise cooperation.
Ms. Li Jinglin of the Grouphorse Group gave a speech entitled “How Is Senior Interpreter Made?” in the 111 lecture hall. Ms. Li Jinglin is a full-time translation trainer of the Grouphorse Group. She has served as a senior translator in the Translation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has extensive experience in practical interpretation and ability testing and training. She shared her learning experience and work experience with the students of our college and put forward some pertinent suggestions on the translation career plan.
The speech was very successful and was welcomed by nearly a hundred graduate students present. The students said that Ms. Li Jinglin’s speech was very instructive to them, and also inspired their love for language and translation. In the future, “foreign language expertise, humanistic literacy, international vision, Chinese affections, and Nankai characteristics” will be used as a self-quality improvement. The goal is to tell the Chinese story well, to convey the voice of China, and to show the demeanor of the students from the College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University.
On September 30th, Mr. Zhao Yuqi, the senior trainer of Grouphorse Translation, also gave a lecture entitled “Postgraduate Recommendation or Postgraduate Entrance Examination, Are You Ready?” for undergraduate students, providing good academic planning guidance. The lecture was warmly welcomed by the students.
