In the early morning of May 2, 2021, BJT, the 2021 online annual meeting of the International Performance Improvement Association (ISPI) closed. Mr. Gu Limin, the co-founder and chief consultant of Improvement Consulting, a well-known expert in learning development and management innovation, and deputy secretary-general of Nankai Foreign Language Alumni Association, was formally elected as the next chairman of the association, with a term from 2023 to 2025. This is the first global chairman from China since the association was founded in 1962, and it is also the 57th chairman of the international association.
Improvement Consulting (Shanghai Improvement Management Consulting Co., Ltd.) is a professional consulting organization that focuses on helping companies improve efficiency, and conducts management system and learning development research and practice. It was co-founded by Gu Limin and Ding Hui. Its mission is to improve organization and personnel achievement and help customers succeed. The scope of services mainly includes management system construction, performance improvement consulting projects, enterprise second-generation inheritance, personnel training system construction, International Performance Professional certification (IPP), Curriculum International Designer certification (CID), corporate university transformation, etc.
The 2017 International Performance Improvement Association Annual Meeting was held in Seattle. Through global membership voting, Gu Limin was elected as the first director of ISPI (term of office 2017-2019), becoming the first director from China since the establishment of the Association in 1962! Thirty years of perseverance and dedication have all been hard-won. The election of Gu Limin represents international recognition and responsibility. At the same time, it enhances China’s position and right to speak in this field and also demonstrates the greater international expectations for China’s performance improvement. The 2019 International Performance Improvement Association (ISPI) Global Annual Meeting was held in New Orleans. The first person to introduce performance improvement in China, Gu Limin, the alumni of NKU, was re-elected as a director of ISPI.
Being able to be re-elected as a director of ISPI is not only a great affirmation of Gu Limin but also a higher expectation for the future development of Chinese enterprise management technology. Meanwhile, it also means that China’s performance improvement technology has made great strides toward the center of the world stage, and has been highly recognized by the global performance improvement industry!
Gu Limin, an alumnus of NKU, has devoted half of his life to the research and development of performance improvement technology, taking “curiosity+persistence” as the motto. He has set a goal for himself since he was young, and has persevered to the end. In just two or three years, he has published Logic of Management, led the establishment of the ISPI-AP Asia-Pacific Center, and released two official certification programs of IPP (International Performance Professional) and CID (Curriculum International Designer). What’s more, he has accomplished a series of high-end interviews of “50 Talks on International Training Masters” and “50 Talks on Chinese New Year Special of Training Masters”, overcoming many difficulties and promoting the development of management improvement and performance improvement of Chinese enterprises by leaps and bounds. It is of far-reaching significance. As the former chairman of ISPI said, in terms of performance improvement, the “GPS-IE® Management Improvement System” from China’s “Improvement Consulting” has already taken the lead in the American methodology and should become the mainstream of the future and provide real value for enterprises!
