The College of Foreign Languages Held the “Teacher Recruitment Simulated Classroom Contest”

On May 13th, to help students improve their teaching skills in actual combat, familiarize themselves with the teacher recruitment process, and lay a good foundation for the future job search path, the “Career Special Training of the Foreign Languages Institute -- Teacher Recruitment Simulated Classroom Contest” sponsored by the Career Development and Career Planning Center of the College of Foreign Languages was successfully held in Building 7. The competition invited famous English teachers Wang Li and Chai Yan at Banyue Forum, as well as doctoral students Ma Qing and Zhai Yu in English language and literature of the college to serve as judges. The contestants came from English language and literature, English interpretation, Japanese language and literature, Chinese modern and contemporary literature and other majors.

The test questions of this competition were divided into two sections of elementary school and junior high school. The competition was carried out by the process of admission, lottery, lesson preparation, trial lectures, and structured interviews. The contest restored the teacher recruitment examination process, aiming to provide students with the most realistic teaching and recruitment examination simulation exercise opportunities. After the competition, the judges spoke highly of the wonderful performance of the participating students and commented on them one by one.

In the end, Li Wei, an undergraduate student majoring in English Interpretation of the Class of 2018, won the first prize of this competition. She said: “Thank you very much for organizing such a lively, interesting and meaningful foreign language skills improvement activity. It not only gives us a platform for training, but the comments from the judges have benefited us a lot. I hope that more of you can participate in it. In this contest, you can expand your horizons, understand yourself, and explore your favorite occupations during the activities, to prepare for future career development.”
