On June 11th, Liu Yun, deputy director of the BRICS and G20 Research Center of China Institute of Modern International Relations and deputy director of Current Affairs Press, visited Nankai University and held a lecture themed the Region and Country Studies and Think Tank Construction in the New Era to the teachers and students of the College of Foreign Languages. Wang Kai, deputy dean of the College of Foreign Languages, attended and presided over the lecture.
In the lecture, Liu Yun first introduced the characteristics and methods of regional and country studies in the new era, and then clarified the requirements the studies in the new era. Then, combining with many cases, he further explained the requirements for writing research reports of region and Country studies and the publication of research results, and analyzed the operation mode of our country's think tanks.
After the lecture, teachers and students asked questions and communicated with Liu Yun on related academic issues. Liu Yun emphasized that the new generation of researchers on region and country studies should read and be able to distinguish various materials, and a solid research foundation is required to provide the country with useful policy proposals. The lecture ended with warm applause.
