Recently, El ruido de las cosas al caer translated by Gu Jiawei, the teacher of our college, was published by Shanghai People's Publishing House. El ruido de las cosas al caer is a novel written by the famous Colombian writer Juan Gabriel Vázquez, which is regarded as a contemporary secret history of Colombia. After its publication, it won one of the most important awards in Spanish literature, Premio Alfaguara de novela and became “the first Latin American novel to win the International Dublin Literature Award”. After the Chinese translation was published, it was listed on the The Monthly Good Book List of China Reading News and Top One Hundred Good Books List·Literature.

A few days ago, Gu Jiawei went to Shanghai to participate in a new book sharing session hosted by the Propaganda Department of the Pudong New Area Committee of Shanghai. The Chinese translation currently has a score of 8.3 on Douban and is well received by readers.

Teacher Gu Jiawei currently serves as the dean of the Spanish Department of our college. He has published translations of  Los informantes,  El ruido de las cosas al caer and  Los cinco soles de México.
