On April, 2nd, “Love Poet: The Night of Mu Nan” Poem Sharing Meeting and the get-togethers of Mu Dan Academy was held in the multifunctional hall of the Student Activity Center in the university in Balitai campus. Yan Guodong, Dean of Mu Dan Academy and College of Foreign Languages, Xing Zhijie, Instructor of Mu Dan Academy and the First Secretary of Party Committee of the directly unit of Nankai University, Sun Hongwei Instructor of Mu Dan Academy and Professor from College of Chemistry, Hu Jun, Vice Dean of College of Foreign Languges, Zhang Zhizhong, Director of Translation Department of College of Foreign Languges and Wang Hongyu, post-doctoral teacher from College of Tourism and Service Management and alumni representatives of College of Foreign Languges, such as An Zhenhuan, Fan Xihe, Zhao Wei, Hu Yan, and Fang Qian attended this activity.
This poem sharing meeting with the topic of “Love Poet: The Night of Mu Nan” guided students to understand the profound patriotism in Mu Dan’s poetries, carefully read the valuable intellectual wealth left by the “Nine-leaf poet” and grant teachers and students of Mu Dan Academy with a platform of exchange and interaction.
Yan Guodong said in his speech that Sir Mu Dan was an outstanding poet, scholar and translator with substantial achievements in modern China. He displayed his lofty patriotism through the poetry, bringing a sense of beauty to readers with his distinctive translation style. Sir Mu Dan represented the fine tradition of poetry creation and translation of College of Foreign Languages in Nankai University and carried noble spirits worth learning for students. He also hoped that students of Mu Dan Academy could experience the beauty of poems and study the profound patriotism of Mu Dan through this activity.
