On the afternoon of the 11th, March, the online Cooperation Signing Ceremony of College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University and International School of University of Salamanca was held simultaneously in Tianjin and Beijing in China and Salamanca in Spain.
Dean Yan Guodong, Vice Dean Wang Kai, Director of Spanish Department Gu Weijia and a teacher in Spanish Department Mi Tian in College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University and chief person in charge of the International School in University of Salamanca and CEO of Spanish Language Schools of University of Salamanca Dr. José Miguel Sánchez Llorente, person in charge of the Student Exchange Program Dª. Carmen Mota, Director of Student Admission Office of the University of Salamanca in China Zhang Zhen, Director of International Office Gao Xuan, Deputy Director Wang Jingzhu and Zhang Han attended this signing ceremony.
Dean Yan Guodong said that University of Salamanca was a long-standing and well-known institution of higher learning, cultivating lots of scholars, literati and statesmen. Dean Yan hoped that both parties are able to enhance the joint cultivation of undergraduate students and master degree candidates through this agreement signed by them, develop regular and orderly exchanges at the academic level, mutually invite experts and scholars from both sides to give lectures and strengthen the cooperation in textbook compiling and curriculum design. Finally, Dean Yan expressed that he hoped to promote the deeper and wider cooperation between both universities with this agreement signing as a starting point and the cooperation between College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University and International School of University of Salamanca as the experimental unit.
Dr. José Miguel Sánchez Llorente said in his speech that Nankai University which was a comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education has a long history and a wide international influence. College of Foreign Languages in Nankai University offered 10 specialties such as English, Russian, Japanese and Spanish. The Spanish Specialty possesses a high professional competence of teaching staff and rich teaching material. The cooperation between two parties made it possible for students from these two countries to exchange and enhanced the development of the relationship between Nankai University and University of Salamanca.
Both sides are looking forward to carrying on their characteristics and giving full paly to their resources, focusing on “the Belt and Road” strategy, fostering international exchanges between universities and benefiting teachers and students from these two countries.
