On December 19th, the 2020 Translation and Talent Cultivation of International Organizations seminar and the first United Nations Document Translation Competition Award Ceremony of Youth Cup of Chinese Translation National was successfully held online. Experts and scholars from international organizations, companies, first-class universities participate in and exchange experiences on how to innovate the talent training model of international organizations in the post-epidemic background, how to comprehensively improve China's foreign translation capabilities and cross-cultural communication capabilities from a global perspective. Professor Yan Guodong, doctoral supervisor, Dean of College of Foreign Languages in Nankai University, and director of the Area and Country Center, was invited to the conference.

The United Nations document translation competition of National Youth Cup of Chinese Translationis hosted by China International Translation Co., Ltd., guided by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) China Regional International Training Center, and supported by the Global Compact China Network (United Nations Global Compact Organization Local Network). It is the only translation event officially supported by Mr. Nicholas Rosellini, the highest representative of the United Nations system in China and the United Nations coordinator in China, Ms. Liu Meng, the general representative of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Asia-Pacific region, and many senior officials of the United Nations. Since the start of the competition, more than 6,000 translations have been received, which has aroused strong repercussions in the language service industry and young student groups. Adhering to the principle of fairness and impartiality, after multiple rounds of rigorous review and cross-final review, a total of 215 winners and 6 Best Organization Awards were selected for the first National Youth Cup of Chinese Translation  in 2020.

The College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University relies on the Translation Center organized by the League to set up special scholarships for translation competitions, and actively organizes and recommends students to participate in the competition. Ao Yun, a post-graduate from 2019 level of English Interpretation Class won the national third prize of Student Group-English to Chinese. Five students, including Xu Xinying, a 2017 translation undergraduate and Zhang Shuqi, a 2018 translation undergraduate, won the National Excellence Award. The College of Foreign Languages in Nankai University was awarded the Best Organization Award by the Organizing Committee of the competition.
