A few days ago, the 10th China Digital Publishing Expo was held in Beijing. As a key publishing project supported by Tianjin in 2020, the e-book “A Bilingual Comic Book on the Prevention And Control of Covid-19”translated by teachers of the College of Foreign Languages, was selected as the first in the list for Anti-Pandemic Digital Exhibition of the 10th China Digital Publishing Expo.
The bilingual comic book on the prevention and control of Covid-19 published by Tianjin Electronic Publishing House covers 10 languages and conveys specific measures for epidemic prevention to the international community in a concise and intuitive way with pictures and texts. It is currently the anti-epidemic publicity book which covers the most languages. The book has come online on the overseas website of CNPeReading platform of China Books Import and Export Corporation.
The College of Foreign Languages in Nankai University has undertaken the translation work of the e-book in 8 languages, including Japanese, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Arabic. The cooperation of 16 Chinese and foreign teachers from 8 departments of Russia, Japan, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Arab, with high-level translations, demonstrates the spirit of Nankai people who serve the overall situation and shoulder the social responsibility; Moreover, this is also a practice of Nankai people who use practical actions to support the international fight against the epidemic and try to construct the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.
