In order to give full play to the leadership role of peer models and strengthen the cultivating effect of the ceremony, the College of Foreign Languages successfully held the honor awards ceremony for the 2019-2020 academic year themed “Models of Youth, Glory of the Foreign Languages College” at the Tian Jiabing Concert Hall on December 17th. All party and government leaders of the college, teacher representatives, representatives of old students and all freshmen students participated in the ceremony.
The ceremony demonstrated the award-winning big data of the 2019-2020 school year through video in different fields, and then 10 people per module with outstanding performance in 6 fields including foreign language expertise, online publicity, volunteer practice, art and sports, anti-epidemic pioneers, and thought leadership were awarded. Then, award-winning representatives of various categories also displayed themselves through foreign language speeches, original music displays, and dubbing sketches.
At the same time, Hou Ying Scholarship, Liangyu Translation Scholarship and other social scholarships funded by alumni for targeted selection of the college of foreign languages were awarded.
Yan Guodong, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, expressed in his concluding speech that the award-winning students are hoped to live up to the college’s training and social care, and take solid steps in the future life with the characteristics of Nankai people who are patriotic, dedicated, innovative and cooperative, and truly become practitioners of foreign affairs, researchers of international issues, communicators of human civilization and providers of language services. He also hopes that all students can learn from the commended individuals and community, and everyone can read for the rise of China and then know China and serve China, integrate the individual into the whole community, and devote youth to the motherland.
