Recently, Yan Guodong, President of the CFL and PhD. supervisor of the Department of Russian, delivered the first lecture of Situation and Policies--Records of Anti-epidemic War: A Community with a Shared Future for mankind and the Responsibility of the Foreign Language Learners--to nearly 600 students. Live online, the lecture brought Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the college Xiang Yu and the total number of undergraduates of 2018 and 2019 together.
Pro. Yan firstly gave an introduction of the deployment schedule on the epidemic prevention and control. He pointed out that following the instructions of President Xi Jinping and the deployment schedule of the NKU, the our college formed a Leading Group for COVID-19 Prevention and Control immediately, under the principle of putting the health of teachers and students first and keeping the teaching and researches run smoothly to the utmost; the working mechanism of daily report was created to keep track of students and staff; the colllege allotted Qingmiao and Nuanxin Fund to the poor students living in the affected area and sent the epidemic prevention supplies to the overseas students and foreign teachers; psychological counseling and career planning consulting were conducted. Besides，he stated that the building and the Reference center were under the closed management and with daily disinfection and sterilization for a safe and healthy environment.
Afterwards, Pro. Yan expounded the honorable deed done by teachers and students of the CFL on the prevention of the epidemic. To be specific, he introduced the stories of the foreign language alumni all over the world raising the funds and medical supplies, praising them for carrying on the spirit of the college; gave a thumb-up to students who took an active part in the community-based epidemic prevention and control,volunteer tutor and anti-epidemic team and activities to support the global battle against the epidemic and put into practice the idea of the community of a shared future for mankind in various ways of multi-lingual posters, recitation, music, comics, original videos and paintings, giving recognition of their humanity quality and commitment to their country. Yan Guodong highlight the construction and outstanding deeds and significance of the translation volunteer group. In the end, Pro. Yan recounted the translation of Guide to the Prevention and Control of the Covid-19 (caricature) in eight languages co-edited by the Chinese and foreign teachers form the Department of Russian, Japanese, Germany, French, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic. Besides, he gave an explanation of the opening remark made by President Xi Jinping at the 73th World Health Assembly. He pointed out that the effort to fight against the epidemic represented the principle of cooperation, global responsibility and the community of a shared future for mankind; called for students making contribution to the social progress with a firm people-centered belief and strong capabilities.
