On December 12th, President of Federal University of Ceara Cândido Albuquerque, Vice President of Federal University of Ceara Augusto Albuquerque, the Foreign President of Confucius Institute Mônica Amorim and the Chinese President of Confucius Institute Chen Yu paid a visit to the College of Foreign Languages, alongside with the Voce President of the CFL Ma Hongqi, Deputy Director of International Office Zhang Ning, the director of the Department of Portuguese Hu Jing, the foreign teacher Diana Maia and student representatives.
Mr. Ma introduced to them the composition of majors, the construction of disciplines and the research centers, and expressed his wish to make further cooperation with on Federal University of Ceara the teacher interactions, student exchanges and shared researches conducting.
Cândido Albuquerque returned the same wish that the Brazilian teachers with dotoral degree would be sent to give lessons and conduct researches in the Department of Portuguese, and extended his welcome to teachers of Nankai University to make exchanges with his university.
Besides, Cândido Albuquerque had an informal discussion with students, introducing briefly Ceara and Brazil, inquiring their difficulties of Portuguese learning and encouraging them to make student exchanges for a better understanding of Brazil and south America.
In the end, Zhang Ning stated that an inter-school agreement was signed between the two sides, with two students exchanged annually; that Confucius Institute of Federal University of Ceara was the ninth one established by Nankai University overseas, I was convinced, representing a good platform to make exchanges.
On the same morning, President of Nankai University Cao Xuetao met with Cândido Albuquerque and other representatives.
