Recently, nine Chinese students two Japanese students from the Japanese Department, under the guidance of their tutor, participated in a two-day training seminar of the Sumitomo Corporation Co., Ltd. They explored the culture of a Japanese corporate and its working environment when they attended some activities such as the thematic lectures, a visit to the company and the evening gala.
The thematic lectures were about international trade, finance and economics, risk management, personnel matters, logistics, comprehensive business development, commitment to the society, career guidance, etc. Dozens of senior management were invited to give lectures about business and operations of their company and exchange with students some suggestions on the career planning.
In addition, all of them paid a visit to the office area of the company and the production area of Tianjin Huazhu Metal Products Co., Ltd. with a close experience of the working mode featuring efficient performance and strict management.
When the seminar was over, students declared that they were having a better understanding of the particulars of how businesses work, and a clearer idea of how to match their ability with the future career.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Sumitomo Corporation Co, Ltd. Initiated in 2011, the training seminar was held to make exchanges between outstanding students and the employees. Three years later, a curriculum system was formed including activities such as courses, visits, and parties, which integrated visits, studies, and exchanges.
