Nankai Teachers Attended the 2019 Annual Meeting of the German Professional Teaching Steering Committee, Teaching Steering Committee of the Foreign Language and Literature under the Ministry of Education

From October 26th to 27th, the 2019 Annual Meeting of the German Professional Teaching Steering Committee, Teaching Steering Committee of the Foreign Language and Literature under the Ministry of Education was held at Jiangsu University of Technology. The participants were about a hundred experts and scholars from the Goethe-Institution, the German Academic Exchange Center, more than 90 universities across the country, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press.

After the opening ceremony, Prof. Jia Wenjian, Chairman of the German Professional Teaching Steering Committee, gave the keynote speech. He forecasted the publish and gave an interpretation of Guidelines for German Undergraduate Courses in Colleges and Universities (referred to as the New Guide ) based on the National Standards for the Quality of Undergraduate Teaching in Colleges and Universities (referred to as the new national standard) published in 2018. Subsequently, Ms. Karin Benkelmann-Zhang from the Goethe-Institution introduced to the present the work priorities in the year to come. In the final keynote speech, Dr. Sven Hänke from the German Academic Exchange Center summarized the work that has been done to the development of Germanic languages and literature in China.

Divided into four groups, the participating experts and scholars discussed in depth about and reported on topics such as the curriculum system construction of the German major under the background of the new national standard and German teaching reform in light of the gold course. They also summarized the work on the Tests for German Majors Band 4 and Band 8 and teacher training in 2019. Mr. Liu Guanlong, the head of the German Department of our college, on behalf of the German department of our college, attended the meeting and had extensive and in-depth discussions and exchanges on the stratification of German talents with colleagues in other colleges and universities.
