On October 16th, Cultural Evening Performance “Eternal Youth Stays with Lasting Time” was held for the global Nankai foreign language alumni to commemorate the extraordinarily glorious course of centennial Nankai, and celebrating its 100th anniversary.
Zou Yujie, Party Secretary of the college, Yan Guodong, President of hte college, Jiao Yanting and Ma Hongqi, Vice Presidents of the college, Xiang Yu, Deputy Secretary and Vice President, Chang Yaoxin, Jiang Huashang, Liu Shicong, Xiao Futang, Wang Jianyi, Li Bing, former leaders, Fischer, Ruyas, Chishang Masaharu, Ikegami Sadako, Toki Tetsuyoshi, former foreign teachers, Chen Mingjun, the son of Mr. Chen Yu, Li Yanye, the grandson of the Li Jiye, and the alumni representatives, the teachers and students of the college attended the party.
The whole party consisted of 20 performances gaven by foreign language alumni at home and abroad. Themed with “the70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China”, “Patriotic Struggle and Salvation”, “Centennial Nankai with Its Spirit” and “One Hundred Years of Foreign Languages and Changes”, these performances were conducted in 10 languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, in a variety of forms, such as solo, drama, chorus, Musical instruments preforming, recitations, and cross talks, etc. The party aimed to sing of the glorious history of centennial Nankai and foreign languages disciplines.
The choral speaking of Ode to Centennial Nankai shows that the spirit of Nankai patriotism is still shining through the centuries. In the new era, tracing back to the history, NKers bear in mind the mission, and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
The Peking Opera Ode to Red Plum and The Legend of the Red Lantern in English were performed as a sign of unchanging cherishment for martyrs and patriotism.
Nankai Anthem was sung in ten languages, a new form that is easy to express the connotation and emotion of the song plain to the world so that the voice of Nankai could be heard.
The trumpet solo Grand Russian Fantasia, a kind of traditional folk music culture, showed the audience the diverse civilization in Nankai.
Shu Laibao Commemoration of Centennial Foreign Languages, a Tianjin-style rhythmic storytelling to clapper accompaniment explored a review of Nankai's glory achievements in the past 100 years. The humorous performances have won a round of applause from the audience.
The party ended with the chorus Nankai Anthem sung by all audience.
