The Students of the NKU Excelled in the Second “People’s China Cup” International Japanese Translation Contest

In recent days, students from the CFL excelled in the Second “People’s China Cup” International Japanese Translation Contest. Xu Jiawei from the 2018 MTI Class, guided by Pro. Wang Xinxin, won the first prize of “Chinese-to-Japanese translation” for the graduate group; 2016 undergraduate Liu Yixi guided by Ms. Sentian Zhimei and international student Bingtou Wanlizi from Aichi University guided by Pro. Wangkai won the excellence award of “Chinese-to-Japanese translation” for undergraduates. And Lu Yongkang, a 2016 undergraduate guided by Pro. Zheng Lin, the second prize of “Japanese-to-Chinese translation” for undergraduates.

Hosted by People’s China Publishing House under the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and organized by the Translators Association of Guangdong Province and Guangdong LangPro Co,. Ltd, the contest is composed of two parts: translation and interpretation. The two translation programs from Chinese to Japanese and vice visa were designated specifically for the middle school students, higher vocational education, undergraduates, postgraduates and other social members.

Experts spent more than one month selecting and evaluating the translates works. After the careful review, the awards were announced the other day: students from the NKU achieved outstanding results. It was said that nearly 3000 contestants from over 600 high institutions and enterprises of China and Japan attended the contest and the award ceremony would be held at the Lecture Hall of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration.
