On the afternoon of July 16th, the founding ceremony of Japan chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature was held at Tianjin Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Zhao Wei, the president of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature, flew to Japan, attending the ceremony. Yu Zhenling, Deng Wenli, Wang Yunxia, Zhang Guolu, Jiang Chunji, Zhou Xiaohong, Li Zhenxi, Luan Dianwu, Jin Zhikai, Zhang Liwei, Li Jun, Shi Dongyang, Jiao Hongyin, Pu Chunhua, Han Yanli, Ma Qiaoxia, the alumnus in Japan, participated as well. Mr. Saionji, the consultant of China-Japan Friendship Association in Tokyo, was present, together with Mr. Ikegami and Mr. Toi, Japanese foreign teachers of CFL, Zhang Yuanliang, whose grandfather was Zhang Boling, the initial president of Nankai University, and Pan Xuehui, the teacher from Japanese Department of CFL of NKU.
The dean of the Confucius Institute in Musashino University, Luan Dianwu hosted the opening ceremony and the president of Japan chapter of Nankai Alumni Association Li Zhenxi delivered speech, greeting Mr. Zhao and the teachers and alumnus of NKU with warmth and gratitude, for the meeting amidst their busy schedules. Friendly Mr. Saionji and Mr. Ikegami addressed their sincere and passionate speeches as well.
During the ceremony, The Charter of Japan Chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature was passed and its facility members was designated. President Zhao Wei announced the official founding of Japan chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature and granted the flag of the association to Luan Dianwu and the representatives of alumnus, who then took photo with all other attendants to record this moment.
In the end, all the alumnus stood up to sing the school song of NKU, and left their names on the flag made for the 100th anniversary, promising to meet again at the 100th anniversary of NKU in this October.
After the founding ceremony, all the alumnus convened to retrospect the 40-year-long teacher-student friendship and discuss the work of the association in the future. They expressed the hope to appeal for more alumnus to contribute more to the development of NKU and of foreign language discipline through the chance of the 100th anniversary.
