Symposium for 2019 Graduates was Held by CFL

On June 13th, “Gratitude for Teacher, Gilding for Future”—the Fifteenth Open Day of College Leadership, alias Symposium for 2019 Graduates was held at room 139 in CFL. Zou Yujie, the secretary of the Communist Party Committee of CFL, Yan Guodong, the dean of CFL, Ma Hongqi, the deputy dean, Xiang Yu, the vice secretary of the Commnuist Party Committee of CFL and the deputy dean, Zhao Guoqiang, the head of CFL office, and other teachers from the Youth League Committee of CFL had a face-to-face talk with 20 representatives of 2019 graduates.

During the symposium, the representatives exchanged their views and suggestions in terms of daily study with the college leaders, including course study, teaching arrangement, international exchange and administrative works. They proposed that the college recruit more foreign teachers, purchase the original books for academic research and improve the equipment in language lab. More pertinent advice was given in related with course arrangement, social practice as they recommended that the college should provide inter-department and inter-college course selecting system, new style internship base and more training for professional tests. The leaders and teachers who attended the symposium carefully listened to and recorded what the graduates had suggested, giving response to their proposals one by one.

The leaders stated that they were very glad to see the students showed much concerns on the construction and development of the college. Zou Yujie confirmed and supported the practical advice made by the students, praising the high quality for some of the topics that also belonged to the points that the leaders wanted to talk with students and deserved mutual consideration and discussion. She promised: “In the future, the mailbox of the dean will work better, in order to know and handle the problems of students in time, as well as to offer better stage and adequate resources.”

Yan Guodong said that the college leadership attached great importance to this “Open Day of College Leadership” and the students didn’t have to worry as the leadership would try best to fix everything that can be handled currently and would strive for everything that needs further coordination from other functional departments. Professor Yan also gave a suggestion to the students that they should improve their comprehensive abilities, get actively involved in social practices and become the globally novel talents who are able to deal with international affairs and work with language and culture through their second languages, other than limited by the career as a foreign language translator.

It is reported that the students have actively expressed their ideas and given suggestions and the leaders have responded to what the students doubted and concerned, collecting plenty of views and advice during the Open Day. All the members in CFL, whether teachers or students, have made efforts to create a more convenient and comfortable aura for learning and working.
