NKUer Won the First Prize of the NECCS (North China)

Throughout April 26 to April 28, the 22nd NECCS (North China) “FLTRP Cup and Guocai Cup”  was held at the China University of Political Science and Law. As the member of AREX English Debating Society, Zeng Wenqi (an undergraduate 2016 of the CFL) and Zhang Yining (an undergraduate 2017 of the School of Economics), in behalf of the NKU, won the first prize and reached the national final. As the entourage referee, He Fan, an undergraduate 2017 of Zhou Enlai School of Government, got the “excellent judge”.

It was widely known that the “FLTRP Cup” enjoyed high reputation in English competition because its large size and authority. This competition was organized by the Communist Youth League Center, the National Association of Students, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. Altogether 87 schools from North China including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang. The competition composed of 5 point contests and 1 final. The debating topic was “Whether social media posts should prioritize giving youth hope over presenting a harsh reality to them or not”, which demonstrated the organizers’ social concern and profound philosophical speculation. As the Pro part, our constants, under the guideline of “Dedication to public interests and acquisition of all-round capability”, won the first prize of the debate and got the ticket to the final.
