Nankai University Held a Forum on China-Russia Cooperation Status and Cooperation Prospects on Humanities and Other Fields

On May 23rd, a forum on China-Russia Cooperation Status and Cooperation Prospects on Humanities and Other Fields was held in the College of Foreign Languages. It was presided over by asscoaite professor Jiang Min and attended by some teachers and students from CFL.

Prof. Sun Tao, Dean of the Zhou Enlai School of Government, and Prof. Yan Guodong, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, delivered their welcome speech. Prof. Sun introduced the history of the names of Tianjin City and Nankai University as well as their development. Prof. Yan gave a brief introduction of what CFL had achieved these years. Both of them said that Nankai University would strengthen the cooperation in scientific research with Russian colleges and research institutes. Mr. Barbaric, Vice President of the National Normal University of Blagoveshchensk in Russia also delivered a speech, in which he said that he hoped their visit to Nankai University would promote in-depth exchanges for the future.

At the symposium, six delegates from the Russia group presented their reports and discussed diplomatic, economic, cultural, and educational cooperation between China and Russia. In addition, their reports were also concerned about Australia, Pakistan, and other countries and regions. Associate professor Yang Lei from Zhou Enlai School of Government made a report on the Role of Sino-Russia Cooperation in Building Partnerships, and Associate professor from CFL made a report on The Significance of Pavsovsky's Works to Us. The symposium was held in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere. Finally, Mr. Kuhalenko, head of the International Office of National Normal University of Blagoveshchensk, presented souvenirs to the College of Foreign Languages and the Zhou Enlai School of Government. Both sides said that the cooperation between China and Russia would prosper in the future.

The symposium was organized by the Zhou Enlai School of Government and the College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University. Both of them worked together to promote exchanges and cooperation between NKU and those foreign colleges and institutes. The Russia delegate group of 29 members arrived in Tianjin on May 22nd, and they were from more than ten foreign colleges and institutes. On the next day, they had a campus tour of Nankai University, visited Tianjin History Museum, and even went to Tianjin Ancient Culture Street. They were impressed by the beautiful campus, friendly NKUers, and the spendid history of Tianjin City.
