Vinogradov, A Senior Researcher of the Institute for Far Eastern Studies in Russian Academy of Sciences Held a Lecture in the CFL

On April 24, Vinogradov, a senior researcher of the Institute for Far Eastern Studies in Russian Academy of Sciences held a lecture on the “Studies of Chinese Contemporary History in Russia” in the CFL. The lecture was hosted by the Pro. Wang Lidan, dean of the Department of Russian. Pro. Yan Guodong, president of the college and students from all grades attended the lecture.

With the study of Chinese contemporary history as the departing point, Vinogradov held a review of the achievements made by sinologists in Russia and analyzed the characteristics of sinology in Russia. As the chief editor of The Comprehensive History of China in Russian (separate volumes), Vinogradov gave a brief introduction to the compiling principles and academic significance of the ten volumes which was the largest in size, the widest participation and the most systematic and complete in content. In the end, he answered the questions concerning with it.

Vinogradov graduated from the Department of Social Economy in the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Moscow State University and then got his Vice-doctoral Degree of History and PhD Degree of Politics there. Now being one of the renowned researcher on the Chinese contemporary issues, he published more than 200 books and papers and was the chief editor of The Comprehensive History of China in Russian (the 9th volume)--Reform and Modernization (from 1976 to 2009).
