On the 19th of April, Yang Ping, the executive editor of the Chinese Translators Journal and also one of the major speakers of “NKU-Hall”, was invited to deliver a lecture in the meeting room 139 of the CFL communicate with students and teachers of the CFL. The participants were Zou Yujie, secretary of the Party Committee of the CFL; Wang Kai, vice president of the CFL; and Wang Chuanying, deputy head of the center of MTI. Pro. Miao Ju hosted the lecture.
In the beginning of the lecture, Zou Yujie granted the souvenir of the “NKU-Hall”to Yang Ping.
The theme of the lecture was “Some Consideration on Ways and Approaches of Translation Studies in the Age of Globalization and Information”. She believed that the 40 years had witnessed the shift of the Chinese translation theories studies from the traditional one to the modern one and the advent of the globalization and information age promoted the interdisciplinary studies and the paradigm of the multiplied studies. Afterwards, she shared with us the topics on the methods, features and approaches of Chinese Translation Studies.
In the end, Yang Ping answered some questions about the applied translation and interdisciplinary studies.
