Liu Yixi, Student from the Japanese Department of Our College, Won the Second Prize in the Dachu Japanese Speech Contest

The 2019 Dachu Japanese Speech Contest was held in the Communication University of China on 13th April. It attracted hundreds of Japanese learners from dozens of universities in the Beijing and Tianjin area. After selections 10 entered the junior final and 16 the final. Liu Yixi, who was admitted into our Japanese Department in 2016, won the second prize in the contest under the direction of his foreign teacher Morita Naomi. He will be invited to Japan for visiting and learning.

Liu Yixi said that this contest meant a lot to him, through which he had his Japanese improved and got to know that university was not only a good place for us to acquire knowledge in one or more disciplines and participate in some cultural activities, but also a wonderful place to find out what you like and what you are good at, then we can have a full understanding of our own weaknesses and do what we can to overcome them.

The Dachu Japanese Speech Contest came into existence in 2007, mainly sponsored by the Communication University of China and the Dachu Corporation of Japan while jointly organized by Beijing Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Japan-China Friendship Association, China Radio International (CRI), People’s China Magazine, Japan External Trade Organization in Beijing, Japan-China Economic Association, the embassy of Japan and many other organizations. It is the largest Japanese Speech Contest in the Beijing and Tianjin area.
