On March 17th, the opening ceremony of Tianjin chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature was held in the lecture hall 111 of the CFL. The participants were Yan Guodong, president of the CFL; Ma Hongqi, vice president of the CFL; Gao Tianming, secretary of the Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature; An Zhenhuan, deputy secretary of the Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature; Wang Yanan, president of Hebei chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature. The representatives of aged teachers such as Chang Yaoxin, Liu Shicong, Jiang Huanshang, Xi Qinghua, Ke Wenli, Zhang Guizhen, Hua Benzhong and alumni in Tianjin attended the ceremony. Gao Tianming hosted the ceremony.
The whole room of representatives sang the school song. Afterwards president Yan Guodong delivered the welcome speech and expressed his sincere gratitude to the alumni in Tianjin who gave their support and care to the development of the CFL as well as warm welcome to the alumni, teachers and students in the ceremony. In the end, he together with the alumni reviewed the development progress of the Nankai University and the education of foreign languages over the past 100 years.
Professor Yan Guodong said that while the CFL has been stepping forward to the construction of the first-tier college of foreign languages among national comprehensive university, Nankai Alumni Association of the CFL would provide a platform where ideas were shared, friendship was promoted and wisdom was gathered. He also hoped that Tianjin chapter would further unite the foreign language talents to be part of the Nankai University.
In the opening ceremony, Professor Ma Hongqi granted the flag of the association to Fan Xihe and Shi Wushou, the first presidents of the Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature.
Fan Xihe delivered a report on the work of the Tianjin chapter 2019. He declared that under the leadership of the Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature and the CFL in Nankia University, Tianjin chapter would remain committed to embrace the activities for the centennial anniversary. Besides, great efforts would be made to the exchanges between the alumni and the cooperation of all sides to make contribution the alum mater.
In the ceremony, many matters were approved including the Chater of Tianjin chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature and the development of Tianjin chapter.
After the ceremony, Tianjin chapter of Nankai Alumni Association of Foreign Language and Literature convened the first meeting of the board of directors.
