On Dec 28th, The 5th Representative Assembly of Teaching and Administrative Staff and the Second Session of the 4th Trade Union Congress was held in the lecture hall 111 at the academy of the Foreign Language and Literature. Zou Yujie, secretary of the Party Committee of the college; Yan Guodong, president of the college; Jiao Yanting, vice president of the college; Ma Hongqi; Li Xia and Wang Kai attended the session. The participants were representatives of teaching and staff members From the department of English, Japanese, Translation, Russian, Germany, French, West-Portuguese and Italian, College English and that of administrative staff. Wang Kai, president of Trade Union Congress, hosted the session.
Centering on the teaching, research and administration, 12 proposals was presented in the session, which were teachers-based and students-based. a clear picture full of specific suggestions. Our department would actively provide solutions or suggestions to what we proposed for the work in a frequent assembly.
Yan Guodong, President of the college, delivered a Report on the Work of the Academy of the Foreign Language and Literature. Aimed at a nation-wide first-metier academy in the comprehensive university, leading groups of the Party and Administration have inspired the initiative of the whole faculty to make new advances on the work of the academy. Jiao Yanting, Vice President of the college, and Wang Kai, president of Trade Union Congress, delivered respectively Reports on the Financial Performance and the Work of “the Two Sessions”.
Zou Yujie extended his most sincere gratitude to the whole faculty and the representatives. She declared that being informed of the important remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping, the representatives should follow the general principles of the Party building in the new era, strengthen“Four Consciousness” and fortify our confidence in the socialist path, theories, system and culture with Chinese characteristics to promote the growth of the college and secure the rights and interests of the whole faculty. Mrs. Zou believed that their dedication to the education and striving for competence would bring the college into a new level. Then she emphasized that efforts would be made to improve the development of the “the two sessions” and bring the vitality and creativity of the faculty into play to make contribution to the “Double first-class” university project.
Under the leadership of the Party Committee and Trade Union Congress of the school, our teachers’ congress has rallied and follow the leadership core, thought in big-picture terms, and brought out the best of all to welcome the 100th anniversary of the founding of Nankai University and contribute to the reform of the college.
