Recently, the final of the 2018 “French Institute • Guocai Cup” College English Challenge Series was held in Beijing. Li Xiaoyi, a student of the English Department of Nankai University, won the first prize in the reading contest; Zhou Yuyang and Yan Yan, the German students of Nankai University, won the second prize speech contest. English department student Kong Yankun won the second prize in the writing contest; Mao Qi, a financial management student at Nankai University, won the third prize in the reading contest, and English student Wang Zhiyi won the third prize in the speech contest.
According to incomplete statistics, only through the official website of the contest, there are 40,451 Chinese students and 44 foreign students from 28 countries to register for the speech contest, 216,644 people to sign up for the writing contest, and 301,149 people to register for the contest. After seven months, after a series of rigorous selection of professional judging teams, Nankai students stood out from more than 550,000 people and achieved good results.
It is reported that the FLTRP • Guocai Cup College English Challenge Competition is jointly conducted by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, the College of Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the English Major Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the Foreign Languages and Education Research of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Co-organized by the Center, it was included in the “China University Innovative Talent Cultivation and Discipline Competition Evaluation Project” in 2018, and the contestants came from all over the world.
