Professor Wang Chuanying in Our College Was Elected to the Expert Committee of China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters

A few days ago, China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters Office and the China Foreign Languages Bureau Translation Professional Qualification Evaluation Center completed the re-election of the expert committee. After being recommended by the experts and selected by the selection committee, and submitted to the China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters Leading Group for approval, Professor Wang Chuanying from the College of Foreign Languages of our university was selected as the new expert committee.

This expert committee consists of 176 experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China Foreign Languages Bureau, Xinhua News Agency and other national institutions and universities. It is divided into 8 sub-committees such as English, Japanese, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic and translation talent evaluation and universities education promotion.

China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) is a national vocational qualification examination entrusted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and administered and managed by the China Foreign Languages Bureau. It has been included in the national vocational qualification certification system. Since its inception in 2003, the cumulative number of reference students has exceeded 9,300, of which 110,000 have received translation qualifications.

Professor Wang Chuanying is currently a member of the National Translation Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee, a member of the Chinese Translators Association's Foreign Language System Research Committee, and a member of the European Legal Translation Association (EULITA).
