From November 24th to 25th, the annual meeting in 2018 of the German Language Teaching Advisory Board of the Foreign Languages and Literature Teaching Guidance Committee for the Advanced Universities of the Ministry of Education was held at Nanjing Tech University. Professor Jia Wenjian, Director of the Board and Vice President of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Professor Cong Mingcai, Deputy Director of the Board and Vice President of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, Mr. Jan Sprenger, Vice President of the Goethe-Institut (China), Ms. Hannelore Bossmann, the chief representative of the Beijing Office of the German Academic Exchange Center(Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, DAAD), the new and old members of the Board and more than 100 leaders and experts from the German Majors of 89 universities across the country attended the annual meeting.
The theme of the conference was “German Teaching in the Digital Age – Online Course Construction and Teaching Model Reform”. Professor Jia Wenjian, Mr. Jan Sprenger and Ms. Hannelore Bossmann made speeches on the keynotes respectively. During the conference, experts and scholars conducted special reports, group discussions and summary reports on the theme of the annual meeting. In the session of the special report and outlook, Professor Huang Keqin from Tongji University, Professor Kong Deming from Nanjing University and Professor Yao Xiaozhou from Beijing Foreign Studies University introduced the basic situation of the 2018 German professional teachers' training and Test for German Majors-Band 4 and Test for English Majors-Band 8. In the summary session of the conference, Professor Jia Wenjian, Director of the Board, fully affirmed the work of the Board in 2018 and predicted the work plan in 2019.
This annual meeting is the first annual meeting of the Teaching Advisory Board for the Advanced Education for all major under the new-term the Ministry of Education since its establishment in November. Mr. Liu Guanlong from the German Department attended the conference on behalf of the German Department of our college. He conducted extensive and in-depth discussions and exchanges with colleagues from the German majors, publicized the construction of German major and the development of foreign language disciplines, improving the reputation of German major of our college.
