On November 27th, the College of Foreign Languages held a meeting for teachers who had retired in the past three years, and the representatives of the teachers including Suo Jinmei, Wang Jianyi, Liu Qingqiu, Cui Jianguo and Chang Hongling attended the meeting. Zou Yujie, Party Secretary of the college, Yan Guodong, Dean of the college, and Vice Deans Jiao Yanting and Wang Kai were alsopresent at the meeting.

During the discussion, the teachers reviewed the experience of working in the college, expressing gratitude and blessings to the university and the college, and put forward valuable suggestions on discipline construction and talent introduction. They all said that they would give full play to their own advantages, keep up with the pace of development of the college in the new era, ensuring that they would greet the centennial celebration with practical actions.

Yan Guodong gave a detailed introduction to the development of the college and the double-class construction of foreign language disciplines in terms of discipline construction, students' overseas exchanges, academic research, research projects, teacher team building and general + non-general undergraduate talent training programs. He said that the retired teachers had actively carried forward the spirit of working despite of the old age and willing to make contributions with new ideas and ever-lasting ideals, hoping to continue to offer suggestions for the development of teaching and research of the college.

Jiao Yanting reviewed the moving deeds of the teachers in their respective posts and expressed her best wishes for the future life of the teachers. She said that the retired teachers had made unremitting efforts for the introduction of talents, academic research and caring for the next generation. The college would, as always, care for the life of the old teachers, inherit and carry forward the fine style of the older generation of foreign language people, and draw positive energy from the advanced deeds of the old teachers and the models around them.

Zou Yujie spoke highly of the hard work of the retired teachers in teaching and administration for decades. She pointed out that the party committee of the college attached great importance to the work involving retirement, and thanked the teachers for their support and quiet dedication to the college. At the same time, she hoped that the teachers passed on their teaching and research experience, educational sentiments, noble morality, and the spirit of dedication to work to young teachers. The leading group of the college would live up to the expectations and take the responsibility and forge ahead to actively participate in the construction of double first-class disciplines and make contributions to the scientific development of the college.
