The 13th Leadership Reception Day of the College of the Foreign Languages to help the development of the New Students

On November 23, 2018, the 13th Leadership Reception Day of the College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University was held in Room 110. Zou Yujie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, YanGuodong, Dean of the college, and Vice Deans Jiao Yanting, ,Ma Hongqi and Wang Kai attended the meeting. At the meeting, 25 representatives from various majors and grades of the college made suggestions for the improvement and development of the college.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Service and Rights Center of the Students Union presented the result of the survey on the reception day and made presentations and discussions on the topics such as professional curriculum, learning resources, and teaching facilities.

The leaders of the college made in-depth discussions on the proposals and the problems displayed in the research report, and carefully listened to the suggestions of the students. They also give detailed answers to the questions and made sure of the implementation steps, with on-site deployment. Finally, the students' on-the-spot questions were also given answers, and the college said it would propose solutions after further discussion and research.

Zou Yujie said that she attached great importance to the problems raised by the students, and encouraged students to develop their subjective consciousness, think deeply about the study and life so that they could work together with the college to build a harmonious college and a good academic atmosphere. Yan Guodong said that the concerns of the students were the concern of the college. They affirmed that the students could find the existing problems, give their feedback to the college and seek solutions, emphasizing the importance of constantly seeking reforms within the rules.

The activity of the Leadership Reception Day aims to understand and solve the new student’ problems on professional courses, learning resources, infrastructure and the college activities to help them adapt to university life as soon as possible and to enhance the sense of identity in and belonging to the college. Through this activity, the voices of the students have been fully heard and the problems have ways of being solved, reflecting the deep concern of the leaders of the college for the students, which will greatly promote the quality of the work of the college.
