In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Nankai University and the construction of the foreign language disciplines and to improve the management and service level of the college, a meeting for the administrative department of the College of Foreign Language and young teachers was held in Liangzhu Hall on November 16. The Party Secretary of the college Zou Yujie, Vice Dean Jiao Yanting, Ma Hongqi, and Wang Kai, the new faculty in the past three years and the heads of all administrative departments attended the meeting.
The meeting was hosted by the vice Dean Jiao Yanting. She pointed out that young teachers were the future and an inexhaustible motive force for the development of the college. The college deeply cared, valued and supported the development of young teachers and the college had optimized management and integrated the improvement of service into the whole process of discipline development. The administrative departments would continuously improve the service and strive to create good conditions for the growth of young teachers. She hoped that all people could make full use of the support policies of the college, promote their own development and make due contributions to the "double-class" construction of foreign language disciplines.
Zou Yujie, secretary of the Party Committee, stressed that young teachers should profoundly comprehend the thoughts of General Secretary Xi Jinping on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, conscientiously study the spirit of the National Conference on Ideological and Political work, deeply understand the spirit of the National Education Conference, seriously explore and promote the curriculum, and promote the whole process of educating people.Young teachers should constantly improve their ideological consciousness and political position, strive to enhance their sense of mission and responsibility for contributing to national construction and school development, and become a good teacher with ideals and convictions, moral sentiments, solid knowledge, and benevolent heart.They must have high standards and strict requirements at their work. and must not only be far-sighted, but also be practical, hard-working, positive, and proactive.
The Party Committee Office, Personnel Talent Office, Finance Office, Administrative Office, Youth League Committee, Teaching and Research Office, Postgraduate Office, International Development Office, Information Technology Service Center, Data Center, and Foreign Language Testing Center introduced their functions and working procedures to the new faculty.
Yu Jun, a young teacher from the Japanese Department, said that the teachers from various departments introduced in detail the things closely related to them including personal financial management, procedures for going abroad, equipment procurement, and performance appraisal at the meeting. She was deeply impressed by the careful preparation of the teachers and their patient explanation. This event had enhanced the cohesiveness of the college and gave them a sense of belonging.
Dou Tianjiao, a young teacher of the Arabic major, said that the Arabic major would officially be established as a major and begin the first enrollment on the occasion of the centennial celebration of Nankai University in 2019. As one of the first teachers in the new major, she felt that she had great responsibility. It also made her once again feel the warmth of the college leaders and colleagues to participating in the discussions with the various departments of the college and the atmosphere was particularly active. The introduction of each administrative department was comprehensive and thorough and could meet the actual needs of young teachers, so that they could work more smoothly and efficiently and do a good job in teaching and research.
