On the morning of November 6th, Dr. Eugenio Mangi, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Architecture at the University of Palermo, Italy, brought an academic lectures theme speech “20th Century Italian Graphic Art” to the Italian major student. Prof. Yang Lin, the person in charge of Italian major chaired the speech and Cui Weiwei, an Italian professional teacher served as translator. The Italian professional foreign teacher Letizia Vallini and all the students attended the lecture.

Dr. Eugene pointed out that language and art are the same way of communication. The language of the early 20th century is also an art. At the same time, this part of art is different from Michelangelo's image art, which is more difficult to understand. And futurism originated in Italy's important cultural thoughts in the early 20th century. This is a cultural, artistic, political movement founded by F.T. Marinetti in 1909. His research is very modern, such as mechanical civilization. At the time, the rise of European industry and machinery also had an impact on art works, making it tinted with a modern trace. Inspired by this, he published the "Futurist Manifesto."

Starting from futurism, Dr. Eugene reviewed the language changes in Italian imagery since the 20th, pointing out that "art is a reflection on oneself and on things around you" and "artists show things to let the audience understand and participate". After the lecture, Dr. Eugene carefully answered the questions raised by the students and enabled the students to have a deeper understanding of Italian culture with the help of art.
