Students from the Russian Department Participated in the 10th National College Russian Contest and Achieved Excellent Results

From October 26 to 28, Song Yujia, Yang Jun and Liu Liangchen, three representatives from the Russian Department of the College of Foreign Languages, was led by the instructor Zhao Chunmei to go to Shanghai International Studies University to participate in the 10th National College Russian Contest and achieved excellent results.

The National College Russian Contest is an important project for exchanges and cooperation in the field of humanities education between China and Russia. It is organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education. Since 2008, it has been successfully held for 10 sessions. In the past ten years, the types and processes of the competition have been constantly adjusted and advancing with the times so that more Russian talents can be selected for the country and play a proper role in the cooperation between China and Russia. In addition, the competition also provides a platform for Russian college students across the country to communicate, learn and spread Russian. The scale of the national college Russian competition has been continuously expanded. So far, the number of contestants has reached more than 2,000.

The three contestants of our university have carefully prepared in the early stage, and they have performed in excellence in the written test and speech session. Among them, Liu Liangchen, a representative of the postgraduate group, won the third prize and will be fully funded by the China Scholarship Council to go to Russia for further study. Song Yujia form the junior group and Yang Jun from the senior group won the award for excellence.

Liu Liangchen said after attending the competition that he was very grateful to the platform provided by the National College Russian Contest and the teachers for their guidance. In addition to the third prize he won, he also saw many excellent students in the Russian contest and gained a lot through communication with them. He said that he would face up to the gap and reflect on his own shortcomings so that he could adjust his learning methods and strive to make progress in future Russian studies. In the future study, he would actively think, try to record life in Russian and tell the story of Nankai and China in Russian.
