Recently, the National Finals of Star of Hope English Talent Competition was held in Beijing. After fierce competition, Zhang Kai, a student of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Nankai University, won the National Grand Prize of the Adult Group of Universities, and Wang Mingxi and Fu Chen of the College of Foreign Languages of Nankai University received the National First Prize and the National Third Prize of the University Adult Group respectively.
From the country's 32 provincial-level competitions, 2,500 players who stood out from the selection contest of 7 million participated in the competition. The competition includes personality talent show, scheduled speech, impromptu speech, group debate, impromptu question and answer, etc., which not only examines the English ability of the players, but also considers the players' critical thinking ability and comprehensive qualities. Our school players fully demonstrated the solid professional foundation and comprehensive quality, which was highly praised by the teachers of the organizing committee.
