On May 11th, the students from more than a dozen ethnic groups such as Uyghur, Kazakh and Tibetan nationalities enjoyed studying in the three classes of the English training station opened by College of Foreign Languages for minority students across the university. The training classes for College English Test Band 4 and Band 6, and the class for ability improvement opened at the same time. Classes will be held every Friday afternoon for English-speaking students and English-students who are mainly ethnic minority students. The Power of Peers English training station has classes  every Friday aimed at those students mainly from minorities who have difficulty or interest in learning English and it has attracted many students in the first week.

It is reported that the Power of Peers English training station is part of the  Improvement with Determination academic guidance program. In order to improve the English learning of minority students, the College of Foreign Languages has specially formulated a series of  assistance programs according to the features of foreign language majors. The student leaders who are in charge of academic guidance and postgraduates have designed a multilevel and three dimension English improvement program based on the needs of students through resources matching to improve the academic ability, professional competitiveness, and other comprehensive capabilities of ethnic minority students. The selected postgraduate teachers are all outstanding students with academic excellence who have experience in training institutions, and participated in training programs such as the Career RUNNINGMAN teaching skills employment salon.
