The United Nations Chief Simultaneous Interpreter Li Zhengren give lectures at Our College

From September 21st to 22, under the invitation of our college, the United Nations Office at Geneva conference management Secretary and director, chief interpreter professor Li Zhengren gave three lectures to MTI teachers and students on The training of UN interpreters”, which is widely praised by Nankai students and staff.

In his first lecture, Li Zhengren introduced the content and structure of the United Nations permanent organization and the United Nations interpreter, as well as the requirements and procedures for applying for United Nations interpreters, based on years of work experience. Li Zhengren's lectures on illustration and theory really enable translation teachers and students to understand the world's top interpreting standards and the professional challenges in high-profile international organizations.

Li Zhengren, who joined the UN translation work in 1984, has accumulated rich practical experience in interpreting. He was employed as a part-time professor at the Foreign Languages College of Nankai University in 2006. As the representative of the United Nations, Li Zhengren is currently president of the United Nations, the European Union Chinese interpretation test judges interpreters scholarship judges, the United Nations Office at Geneva and chairman of the appeal board.

Li Zhengren also had in-depth negotiations with college Party Committee Leading Group on sending students to international organizations for internships.
