It’s a real fun and an amazing task to teach foreign teachers Chinese.
Since last semester, this activity was organized, students of different majors in college of foreign languages volunteered to assist their foreign teachers to learn Chinese. Students majoring in English, Russian, Japanese, French as well as Spanish were all welcomed. This activity was held on every Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 in 110 room of No.7 building, student-teachers were supposed to prepare what they were going to teach according to their teacher-students’ requirements. Two or three students were arranged to be responsible for their foreign teachers to learn Chinese.
Besides, sometimes these foreign teachers were excited about outdoor activities. They wanted to visit church, park and enjoy some landscapes in Tianjin. In this occasion, we were willing to serve as their tour guides. We had a good time in addicting to taking photos over traveling . It must be admitted that some of our foreign teachers are really very good photographers.
Here is a picture of reunion for a big dinner. In order to show their gratitude for our voluntary assistance, these generous teachers treated us with a big dinner. We went out to search for delicious food from time to time. “I love Chinese food, I am getting fatter and fatter since I came to China.” Yvonne Tucker- a beautiful foreign teacher made fun of herself.
This activity has provided a good platform for both the students and foreign teachers. They are able to learn from each other. It’s good opportunity to practice oral English and meanwhile we can make new friends here. Teachers are all very nice and generous, they bring some snacks to share with us, every time.
