Professor Edo Hiroyuki from Tohoku University of Japan visited the College of Foreign Languages

From March 23 to 24, Edo Hiroyuki, professor of International Cultural Study Department of Tohoku University of Japan, had visited CFL for the cooperation and delivered a speech at CFL.

Professor Yan Guodong, Dean of CFL, had met Professor Edo Hiroyuki.

Professor Edo Hiroyuki took “the characteristics of Japanese Language” as the topic of his speech, which compared the historical development of English and Japanese languages and was warmly welcomed by the students and teachers of CFL. The speech was commented by Dr. Yang Wenjiang, and chaired by Dr. Wang Kai, the two teachers of Japanese Language Department.

Professor Edo Hiroyuki also visited Department of College English School of Foreign Languages and shared his own teaching experience and discussed with on some related teachers on teaching English overseas. Many young teachers of CFL attended the academic discussion and it was chaired by associate Professor Li Xia, also vice dean of CFL.

Professor Edo Hiroyuki also met Ms. Chong Jian, Vice Director of International Academic Exchanges of Nankai University, to discuss how to further the cooperation and prepare the exchange agreements between the two universities.

Since the signing of the agreement between CFL and Department of International Cultural Studies in December 2015, both sides has achieved great development on academic discussion, exchanges of teachers and students, and research cooperation, which formed a firm foundation for further promoting “Global Nankai Project”.
